Blooming Beauties

Starring in the greenhouse this week we have a lovely yellow Oncidium whose looks belie its humble origins (bought in a big box hardware store).

Each blossom is approximately 2 inches tall.  These orchids remind me of a group of ballet dancers--the orange spot looks like the bodice of a costume, and the yellow is the long flowing skirt.

Also appearing is the dramatic Brsdm. Aloha "Elizabeth" (Brassia x Oncidium):

Each bloom is 3 inches tall.  I'm lucky to have a husband who grows orchids as a hobby--he does the work and I get to enjoy the flowers!
